Who measures it
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) runs the gauge at Mansfield Dam and publishes the lake level through its Hydromet network. The number above is that official reading, in feet above mean sea level, and this page refreshes it every hour, around the clock.
What counts as full
Full pool on Lake Travis is 681 feet. The lake is allowed to run well below that in dry stretches, and the space above it is dedicated flood storage behind Mansfield Dam's floodgates. A level a foot or two under 681 in late summer is ordinary; a level above it means the lake is holding flood water.
